Meet Jen C

Jen attended her first Women of the Well Weekend Retreat in November 2023. We asked her to share a little bit about how she found the retreat;

“I found it to be a very rewarding opportunity, which challenges your deep thinking and your emotions. To actually stop, take time and reflect on the busyness of life, and I guess reassess what you're doing. Maybe reset your little body factory settings of what we do day-to-day at work. Particularly in teaching, we don't often get time to sit and actually contemplate what we do and how we can make self-improvement and make ourselves better people to the people in front of us and not only that, to our loved ones at home as well.”

When asked what it was that stood out to her from the experience of the retreat she shared;

“It's actually been an interesting journey the last couple of days to hear other women's stories from all walks of life and to actually appreciate and respect that no matter what battles you may be facing yourself, there are people out there equally or even worse off than what you might be.

I'm hoping that I've been of some assistance to another individual in just listening to their story. In our own ways, we've been able to process, through the the various activities that we've been provided, to undertake an opportunity to actually explore our inner selves, to the levels that previously I've not been exposed to in this particular setting, in this beautiful setting that we have here at Kincumber.”

On why she thinks these Weekend Retreats are so helpful for the women who come along and why she would recommend attending, Jen said;

“For women out there that are seeking to gain some further direction in their life, that are maybe trying to hear the Spirit’s whisper and have no clue about what Women of the Well offer, I'd say step outside your comfort zone.

Come in with a very open heart, open mind. Be willing to listen with your heart.

I would definitely recommend taking the time, giving yourself a reward and giving yourself the opportunity to meet people who are in a similar situation to you, where you actually have that time to sit back and contemplate in silence at various times too, to project yourself forward and coming out of it feeling refreshed and more confident in order to face whatever those little moments are and those challenges that you may be facing in your life at the moment.”
