Bernadette attended her second Women of the Well Weekend Retreat in November 2023.
“Coming a second time is a testament to its importance and the work it has done for me.
I think doing it the second time around, you realise that there are things that you have been told before that you seem to have heard for the first time or you heard it before, but you see it in a different light this time. It becomes deeper. You're more relaxed. You know the system. But you're very open to that new experience again.
Ultimately, I think it's again, quenching your thirst of whatever that is, whatever you're thirsting for is nourished again with different people and in a different way.”
Over both her first retreat and this time in Kincumber, Bernadette felt that it was a beautiful way for women to share their stories. She also said it was especially impacted by the way the weekend is facilitated.
“Women of the Well to me is a beautiful way of women coming together in a very safe space, sharing their stories in sacredness and in confidence in small groups, facilitated by these beautiful three Soul Sisters; Tricia, Ree and Annie, who themselves have their own stories. In a very non-threatening, funny way, in their unique blend of talents. And no pressure. It's so loving, it's so animated.”
We asked Bernadette, what she would say to a woman who might be considering attending a Women of the Well Retreat;"I love the quote that Tricia has said in the Retreat. It's a prayer. She said, ‘Lord, reveal myself to me’.
Whatever faith background you come from, you don't feel that matters because we all have a voice as women. Sometimes we get overwhelmed and we feel unseen. However you come, whatever you're struggling with - you may feel full.
Sometimes we just want that oasis of a time to break from our routine and get our bearings right again.
Whether you're thirsty for anything; you don't feel thirsty; you feel full, but you need a break ~ Try it. Just come for the weekend. You owe it to yourself to discover yourself. I think it’s very transformational.”
